Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota seeks a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide organizational, receptionist and clerical support across patient care units. You will monitor supplies, answer call lights, and assist the care team with orders in the EHR.

This role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills and strong interpersonal abilities. Flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays are expected; internal applicants should attach performance appraisals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills.
• Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program, or HUC Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHR systems, EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and health care team.
• Monitors and orders supplies, answers patient call lights, and assists with managing orders in the EHR.
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff; supports the continuum of care.
