Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the surgical team in safe, efficient operative procedures. The role includes preparing the operating room and maintaining sterile technique to promote optimal patient outcomes and safety across ages.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient positioning and draping, passing instruments, counts, room turnover, and adherence to infection control policies. BLS is required; CST preferred or eligible.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to perform essential functions.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or Operating Room Tech program preferred.
• BLS required; CST preferred or eligible for certification.

• Prepares the operating room by ensuring cleanliness, sterility and proper setup.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains aseptic technique and a sterile field throughout procedures.
• Passes instruments, supplies, and equipment to surgeons and team members.
• Anticipates needs and helps with room turnover and sterilization per policy.
• Performs instrument counts and handles surgical specimens per protocol.
