Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking an OR Scrub Tech to join the surgical services team at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. The role will scrub on procedures across specialties, maintain sterile fields, prepare instruments, and assist the circulating nurse, following aseptic technique and OSHA guidelines.

Requires a high school diploma; CST preferred and BLS required. Completion of a certified technician program or on-the-job training; strong communication and interpersonal

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; hospital Surgical Services experience preferred.
• CST preferred, BLS required.
• Completion of a certified technician program or acceptable on-the-job training.
• Possesses interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly (verbal or written).

Responsibilities

• Scrub on surgical procedures in all specialties performed in the Perioperative area.
• Set up assigned cases and maintain a sterile field.
• Count instruments and supplies with the circulating nurse.
• Care for instruments, supplies, sutures, needles, and basic equipment.
• Adhere to OSHA, safety and infection control policies.
