Job summary

Together Women’s Health (TWH) in Rochester Hills, MI is hiring a full-time Surgical Coordinator to schedule surgeries and manage patient flow. You will be responsible for coordinating pre- and post-operative steps, ensuring medical clearances, and maintaining accurate scheduling in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
• Proficient in computers and practice management tech including electronic recordkeeping.
• Knowledge of multi-line phone system.
• Demonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a positive tone.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with the public.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple patient interactions simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and emails about surgical times, appointments, and instructions.
• Assist patients with forms and collect fees such as co-pays and co-insurance.
• Ensure medical clearance and pre-surgical testing when needed.
• Enter scheduling notes in the EMR and maintain records.
• Prepare patient bills and submit to insurers.
• Schedule appointments and surgeries and send reminders.
• Ensure proper preparation for surgeries and maintain surgical inventory.
• Understand procedures to maintain an accurate surgical schedule.
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
