Job summary

Tenet Physician Resources is seeking a skilled Scheduler for surgical procedures in a Texas physician office. You will verify insurance, obtain authorizations, coordinate preoperative testing, and schedule labs and post-operative care in collaboration with surgeons and hospital staff.

The role requires a high school diploma with an accredited Medical Assistant Program and CMA certification preferred, CPR required, and a minimum of 5 years of practice in a physician office with surgery scheduling

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• CMA preferred, CPR required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a physician office with previous surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred.
• Occasional local travel to support other offices.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of surgery process including verifying insurance; pre-operative certifications and authorizations; complete hospital forms; scheduling patient for pre-operative labs, testing and coordination of post-surgery care.
• Adheres to mission and compliance standards; triage surgical candidates; educate patients about planned surgery; verify insurance information; obtain authorizations; coordinate preoperative testing with surgeons and hospital protocols; schedule surgery with hospital staff.
