Job summary

Methodist Healthcare System is seeking a Scheduler to manage the accurate scheduling of surgical and other procedures across various areas. The role involves coordinating with physicians, offices, and anesthesiologists to follow scheduling guidelines and ensuring all needed equipment is ready for procedures.

You will collect patient demographic and insurance data at scheduling time and utilize the scheduling system, with opportunities to mentor new staff as a preceptor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Secretarial, computer and clerical skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical and other procedures per guidelines.
• Coordinate with physicians, offices, and anesthesiologists.
• Ensure equipment is available for scheduled procedures.
• Communicate schedule changes and special requests to relevant parties.
• Collect patient demographic and insurance data at scheduling.
• Use the computerized scheduling system and update as needed.
• Serve as a preceptor to new employees.
