Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Scheduler to manage appointment-based access to care at a designated facility. The role schedules patients for complex services, such as surgery, coordinating between patient, facility, and providers to ensure timely, accurate scheduling.

The Senior Scheduler also serves as a resource and trainer for newer staff and may pre-register patients in the EHR to obtain pre-certification and insurance verification in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in a medical setting or call center, including two years in medical scheduling.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive work environment and supports a dynamic team.
• Acts as a liaison between patient, facility, and physicians to ensure timely, accurate scheduling.
• Communicates effectively with departments when scheduling barriers arise.
• Serves as a resource and trainer for less experienced staff and mentors team members.
