Job summary

Maxonic is seeking a Practice Coordinator for an onsite contract role with a large medical group. You will handle surgery scheduling, insurance verification, authorizations, and referrals within Epic while coordinating with physicians and staff.

This role requires 3 years in a medical practice setting, knowledge of HMO/PPO/POS plans, and WC workflow. Onsite schedule with opportunities to support VIP patients and staff training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years of experience with a large medical group practice.
• Surgery scheduling experience in a high-volume setting.
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, and POS insurance plans.
• Experience with Workers' Compensation processes and WC cycle/protocols.
• Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all surgery scheduling tasks: verify insurance, schedule pre- and post-operative appointments, obtain health clearances, and arrange authorizations.
• Manage physician referrals in Epic corresponding to PPC tasks.
• Provide patient-facing service: schedule appointments, triage calls, answer questions, and refer complaints to supervision.
• Coordinate with medical staff to resolve patient/physician issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Handle administrative duties including correspondence, forms, authorizations, billing follow-up, and chart auditing as needed.
