Job summary

UCHealth Memorial Hospital North Pavilion 1 in Colorado Springs is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to coordinate all aspects of surgery scheduling, ensuring facilities, staff and equipment are available.

You will contact physicians, patients and families, verify insurance, and schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures using computerized scheduling systems in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
• Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
• Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
