Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a Specialty Scheduler for NRV ENT to manage multiple providers’ surgery schedules and prepare packets for surgical facilities. You will communicate with physicians and staff, coordinate pre-/post-operative activities, and ensure accurate documentation and scheduling for optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education required.
• Computer and word processing knowledge; keyboarding skills essential.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT coding preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with providers and team members regarding appointments and surgery information for specific patients.
• Performs patient interview to assess pre-operative needs per guidelines.
• Answers calls, screens messages, and provides information to patients in a timely manner.
• Posts surgical case information at operating facilities and distributes to key staff.
• Coordinates pre-/post-surgical care including tests, labs, and education classes.
• Manages equipment availability and ensures proper case documentation.
• Maintains OR Utilization reports for multiple facilities and calendars in systems.
