Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a Specialty Scheduler - NRV ENT to manage surgeon schedules and prepare packets for facilities. You will deliver patient-focused service, communicate schedules, and coordinate pre-/post-operative care with the care team.

The role requires strong organizational skills, basic computer and word processing knowledge, and attention to detail. CPT knowledge and medical terminology are a plus, with a supportive, mission-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education required.
• Computer and word processing knowledge and experience required.
• Keyboarding skills are essential.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT coding preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.
• Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
• Above average organizational skills with attention to detail in work.
• Strong skill in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation and mathematical calculations.
• Maintains composure under pressure.
• Diffuses tension through effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple providers' surgery schedules.
• Prepares surgery packets for physicians.
• Communicates patient information accurately to staff.
• Coordinates pre-/post-surgical care and tests.
• Posts surgical case information to operating facilities.
• Manages block time and coordinates with other schedulers.
• Notifies patients of surgery-related appointments.
• Documents in patient records and coordinates with staff.
