Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to manage clinic surgery appointments, verify funding, and ensure complete medical documentation before procedures. You will liaise with clinic teams, admissions, the OR, physicians, and patients to communicate schedules and changes efficiently.

The role requires experience in hospital registration, familiarity with medical terminology, strong English communication, and the ability to travel to off-site practices. Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with hospital or clinic patient registration processes.
• Knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Experience using MS Office.
• Ability to travel to off-site physician practices.
• Ability to interpret various medical insurance plans.

Responsibilities

• Schedule clinic patients for surgery and coordinate with admissions and the operating room.
• Verify funding source and ensure all required medical documentation is complete before surgery.
• Communicate schedule changes effectively between clinic, physicians, and patient.
