Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, LLC is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to manage surgical scheduling, pre-certification, and insurance verification. You will coordinate referrals and ensure accurate scheduling with physicians, hospitals, and patients.

Responsibilities include confirming dates, processing pre-admission testing, and maintaining the surgical calendar. Strong attention to detail and experience in medical office environments are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 1 year medical office experience preferred.
• Associates degree is preferred.
• One year medical office experience required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficient with email and internet applications.
• Experience with practice management and EHR systems.
• Ability to handle confidential, sensitive information.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of surgical procedures for assigned surgeons.
• Discuss and coordinate surgical dates with patients per physician schedule.
• Provide information on cardiac and medical clearance.
• Arrange pre-op and post-op appointments including testing.
• Prepare and maintain surgical calendar and documentation.
• Coordinate referrals and pre-certification with insurers.
• Assist patients with scheduling follow-ups and add-ons.
• Communicate with hospital/center regarding procedure details.
