Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Surgical Posting Coordinator to manage the scheduling of inpatient and outpatient procedures and ensure accurate patient data. You will coordinate with surgeons and offices, post cases within available block time, and maintain daily/monthly statistics.

Responsibilities include posting schedules up to 24 hours prior to surgery, communicating changes, and supporting data collection and audits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Three years clerical experience with at least 1 year in medical field.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; knowledge of surgical procedures preferred.
• Computer experience required; sets priorities and handles multiple projects under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Schedules/Posts inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures with accurate patient data.
• Communicates schedule changes to departments and surgeon offices.
• Maintains physician privileges and suspension lists for schedules.
• Keeps work area clean, organized and equipment functional.
• Performs clerical and data collection duties related to schedules and reports.
• Participates in unit activities and other assigned duties.
• Supports data audits and block utilization reporting.
