Job summary

University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. is seeking an organized scheduler for the Orth Downtown Ambulatory Practice in Baltimore, MD.

Under general supervision, you will schedule division surgeries, authorize cases, and manage referrals and preauthorizations to ensure smooth patient and provider flow. You will work with payer guidelines, ICD-10/CPT coding, and a computerized billing system to maximize reimbursement and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience posting and/or authorizing preferred.
• Knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and preauthorization preferred.
• Knowledge of IDX or similar computerized billing system preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
• General understanding of back-office operations preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all division surgeries and incidental testing and authorizes surgical cases.
• Manages referrals and pre-authorization activities according to guidelines.
• Aims for maximum patient and provider satisfaction and maximum reimbursement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
