Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator II to manage DAS and Ambulatory OR surgery/procedure scheduling for both adult and pediatric patients. You will support front office operations including registration, scheduling, and pre/post follow-up calls, and contact insurers for preauthorization.

Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to ensure coordinated care and smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Certificate in Medical Technology preferred.
• Certificate in ICD-9 preferred.
• Certificate in CPT coding preferred.
• 3 years scheduling experience, with 2 years in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures.
• Monitor front office workflow and adjust for optimal service delivery.
• Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification from insurers for OR surgeries.
• Obtain patient medical clearance.
• Resolve patient issues or questions regarding policies and procedures.
• Place surgical confirmation calls 1 day prior to scheduled date.
• Schedule post-op follow-up visits with providers.
• Liaise between referring physicians and surgeons for data and scheduling.
