Responsibilities

• Gathers and interprets patient data to enable scheduling of tests and procedures.
• Provides test preparation instructions and answers scheduling questions.
• Enters scheduling information into the hospital system and updates demographics.
• Serves as a resource to resolve scheduling discrepancies and obtain approvals for non-routine appointments.
• Checks medical necessity at time of scheduling and coordinates with multiple departments.
• Maintains and reports scheduling statistics for the department supervisor.
