Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a patient registration and scheduling professional to manage registrations for Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center procedures. You will verify demographics, contact insurance, and coordinate with families to ensure timely procedures and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in Cerner and/or similar EMR systems.
• Knowledge of medical insurance verification procedures, insurance screening and financial counseling.

Responsibilities

• Register and schedule patients for surgical procedures, verifying demographics and insurance information.
• Coordinate pre-certifications and insurance verification with providers and facilities.
• Communicate effectively with families, physicians, and other departments to ensure timely scheduling and accurate documentation.
• Assist with CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge as part of the registration process.
