The Surgical Scheduler at Jefferson Health coordinates inpatient and outpatient procedures, ensuring timely and courteous scheduling to support a superior Jefferson Experience for all patients.

This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and adherence to HIPAA, with responsibilities including confirming times, obtaining prior authorizations, and providing pre-operative instructions to patients.

Competenze

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data.
• Ability to multi task while managing a time sensitive workload.

Mansioni

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to: obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure.
• Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.
• Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
