Job summary

Geisinger Healthplex CenterPoint is hiring for a full-time Scheduling Specialist in Days shift (7:30am-4pm). The role supports OR scheduling for surgeons, manages providers and the department's surgery calendar, and collects patient information to meet scheduling needs.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of healthcare experience; prior patient scheduling experience is strongly preferred. This position offers comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• Minimum of 1 year related healthcare experience (Required).
• Previous patient scheduling experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides operating room scheduling support for surgeons within the department.
• Manages the Providers and the Department’s surgery schedule.
• Obtains patient information and communicates with providers to meet patient needs.
• Monitors operating room usage and notifies physicians of open time/rooms for elective cases.
• Escalates template issues and coordinates with external departments as needed for resolution.
