Job summary

USPI Point of Rocks Surgery Center is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage daily scheduling for the operating room, GI lab, and 23-hour stays. You will coordinate with anesthesia groups, ensure accurate billing via procedure codes, and verify all patient information for correct entry.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of hospital or medical office experience, excellent customer service, and strong medical terminology. Join a team focused on high-quality, service-oriented care.

• Minimum 2–4 years of hospital or medical office experience.
• Excellent phone etiquette and professional communication.
• Strong medical terminology and accurate data handling.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities and organizes work.
• Schedules patient procedures for OR, GI lab, and 23-hour stay.
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups for coverage.
• Uses procedure codes for billing accuracy.
• Verifies patient information for accuracy.
• Ensures all required paperwork is collected.
• Communicates schedule changes to staff.
• Completes fields in Advantx.
• Works with OR director to avoid equipment conflicts.
• Alerts admin when new doctors or procedures are scheduled.
• Cross trains with other areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Completes consents and submits to chart builder.
• Promotes positive relationships with coordinators and staff.
