Job summary

Mercy Home Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler/Prior Authorization Coordinator to manage surgical scheduling, obtain insurance authorizations, and support front-desk operations across multiple practice locations. The role emphasizes coordination with patients, providers, and insurance entities to ensure timely scheduling and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, experience in medical scheduling or prior authorization, and familiarity with Epic EHR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical scheduling or related roles preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic EHR is preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and prior-authorization processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures.
• Obtain required insurance authorizations in a timely manner.
• Maintain assigned electronic health record work queues daily.
• Provide front-desk coverage at multiple practice locations as needed.
• Verify patient demographics and collect copayments according to policy.
