Job summary

Wolfe Eye Clinic in Fort Dodge, IA is seeking a full-time Surgical Scheduler to join our medical practice. The role entails educating patients, coordinating surgical schedules, and handling preauthorization and chart documentation.

You will liaise with surgery sites and pharmacies, perform pre- and post-operative calls, and support triage needs. You'll work in a multi-specialty ophthalmology clinic focused on delivering quality vision care with comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and able to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and patient service skills.
• Ability to coordinate with hospitals to schedule surgical patients.
• Experience with medical scheduling or surgery coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education.
• Monitor and coordinate surgical schedules.
• Obtain insurance precertifications and preauthorizations.
• Maintain accuracy of EMR and chart documentation.
• Manage surgical paperwork.
• Coordinate and complete pre-op and make post-op phone calls.
• Act as liaison with surgery sites.
• Communicate with pharmacy for refills.
• Provide assistance with triage phone calls.
• Perform other clinical duties as needed.
