Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a full-time, on-site role in York County, PA. You will assist in direct patient care, collect specimens, and help with procedures under supervision, while maintaining patient safety and privacy.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, documenting in the EHR, preparing for visits, administering vaccines when trained, and educating patients and families. Strong SBAR communication and teamwork are essential for efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in Medical Assistant or MA diploma preferred.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred upon hire.
• Strong communication and SBAR skills.
• Proficient in entering information into an electronic health record.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals and visit notes.
• Collect specimens as directed and ensure they are logged.
• Prepare patients for procedures and set up instruments.
• Administer vaccines and medications as qualified.
• Enter orders and follow up on test results.
• Provide patient education and post-visit instructions.
• Maintain equipment and supplies and assist in duties.
