Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide safe, therapeutic care and support to patients. You will assist in direct patient care, perform treatments, administer medications when qualified, and educate patients and their families per provider directions.

The role requires assisting in patient-centered workflows, with responsibilities varying by department. Schedule is Monday through Friday during the day, with no weekends or holidays. Sign-on bonus eligible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or Diploma preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document reason for visit and patient vitals.
• Collect specimens as directed and ensure proper handling.
• Prepare patients for procedures and maintain standard precautions.
• Under supervision, administer vaccines and medications as permitted.
• Document prescriptions and refills per protocol.
• Assist with exams and basic tests (EKG, vision, etc.).
• Provide patient education and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain patient flow and assist in office operations.
