Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA, is seeking a capable Medical Assistant to provide safe, therapeutic care and support patient-centered practice. You will assist in direct patient care, perform treatments, administer medications as qualified, and educate patients and families under supervision.

The role supports office workflows, handles vitals, specimen collection, vaccines, and entry of data into the electronic health record. A strong team player with good communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience or completion of MA program is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required on hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) on hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents reason for visit and patient vitals (temp, BP, weight, BMI, respirations, pulse).
• Collects specimens as directed; ensures tracking/logging prior to lab transport.
• Prepares patients for procedures; uses standard precautions and sets up instruments.
• Under supervision, administers vaccines and medications as prescribed; screens for risks.
• Documents prescription requests and refills per protocol.
• Maintains patient records in the EHR and supports efficient daily patient flow.
