Job summary

The role includes obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, processing paperwork, preparing for visits, and coordinating follow-up with providers, while maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree Medical Assistant preferred or Diploma Program Medical Assistant preferred.
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience required or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support upon hire required.
• Certified Medical Assistant upon hire preferred.
• Completes required education and competency testing to perform at an advanced level.
• Medical terminology training is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents reason for visit and patient vitals.
• Collects specimens and ensures proper handling and logging.
• Maintains stocked patient care areas and prepares instruments per guidelines.
• Prepares patients for procedures and follows Standard Precautions.
• Schedules diagnostics and communicates results/follow-up instructions.
• Administers vaccines and medications under supervision as qualified.
• Documents prescription requests and refills per protocol.
• Performs basic office procedures and patient education.
• Manages patient information and supports care team workflow.
• Maintains confidentiality and completes audits with 80% or higher.
