Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role you will assist in direct patient care, perform routine clinical tasks, document visits in the EHR, and educate patients and families under provider supervision.

You may administer vaccines and medications as qualified, and coordinate tests and appointments to support efficient office workflow. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse or provider, you will help prepare patients for procedures, collect

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Associates Degree Medical Assistant Preferred or Diploma Program Medical Assistant Preferred
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience required or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient visit reasons and vitals (BP, temp, weight, BMI)
• Collects specimens and tracks them for lab processing
• Prepares patients for procedures and uses Standard Precautions
• Schedules tests and follow-ups; relays results to patients
• Administers vaccines/medications under supervision when qualified
• Documents prescription requests and refills per protocol
• Provides patient education and post-visit instructions
• Maintains confidentiality and supports office workflows
