Job summary

TSAOG Orthopaedics & Spine is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to manage the daily activities of the physician's surgery practice in cooperation with the clinical team. You will coordinate with departments and outside parties to ensure surgery patients are approved and scheduled.

The role involves scheduling, pre-surgical requirements, and communicating costs to patients, with a focus on smooth operations across TSAOG locations in Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nationally Registered Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Clinical knowledge and EMR experience (Athena) required.
• Knowledge of health insurance requirements for reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily surgical practice activities with the clinical team.
• Schedule surgeries and inform patients of pre-surgical requirements.
• Submit orders for authorization and liaise with the authorization department.
• Enter surgical/clinical charges into Athena and document communications.
• Address patient and staff concerns; escalate to Clinic Manager as needed.
• Maintain surgical schedule and On-Call rounding lists.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and regular attendance.
