Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a detailed-orientated, strong team player and highly organized candidate to join our group as a Surgical Care Coordinator. You are responsible for the coordination and education of services for our patients receiving surgery with our Orthopedic/Spine Physicians. You will play a vital role in patient scheduling, procedure coordination and surgery chart preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule patients for Orthopedic/Spine Surgeries
• Verify patient’s insurance benefits and coverage; collecting any out-of-pocket patient responsibilities
• Obtaining pre-operative clearances from Primary Care Providers, Cardiologist, Nephrologist, etc
• Coordinate with patients their pre-operative, surgery and post-operative appointments and requirements
• Coordinating any changes with Physicians surgery schedule with Clinical Director and/or facilities
• Preparing weekly surgery charts for clinical team members
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with patients, providers, team members and facility staff
• Entering and updating patient information in the EMR system
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
• Any other job duties as assigned
