Texas Orthopedics, a Division of OrthoLonestar, seeks a Medical Office Coordinator to manage patient communications, scheduling for surgeries and imaging, and coordination of authorizations. The role requires strong organizational skills and familiarity with EMR systems.

The ideal candidate has two years as a medical assistant, experience with surgery scheduling, and CMA certification is preferred. On-site position with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience; orthopedics preferred.
• Two years of surgery scheduling preferred.
• CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document, and handle in-coming calls and appointments.
• Schedule surgeries, MRI, CT scans, pre-op, post-op, and PT appointments.
• Coordinate with providers for medical records, pre-authorization, and patient clearance.
• Assist with obtaining prior-authorization and insurance estimates.
• Issue prescriptions and therapy orders as directed by physicians.
• Maintain EMR documentation of authorizations and patient communications.
• Provide coverage for peers as needed and assist with training.
