Job summary

Marquette University seeks a Surgical Case & Hospital Coordinator to manage end-to-end coordination of oral and maxillofacial surgery cases requiring hospital-based care.

This role serves as the central point of contact between the dental school, affiliated hospitals, the OMFS and GPR programs, and patients to ensure efficient scheduling, complete preoperative preparation, and seamless communication across all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3–5 years experience in surgical scheduling, hospital coordination, or clinical operations.
  • Knowledge of surgical systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling of hospital-based surgical cases across affiliated hospitals.
  • Serve as liaison between OMFS, GPR, hospital OR scheduling teams, and anesthesia services.
  • Ensure preoperative requirements are completed (medical clearance, documentation, imaging, consents).
  • Track case readiness and resolve gaps or delays.
  • Align faculty, resident, and hospital availability to optimize OR utilization.
  • Coordinate inpatient and outpatient workflows related to hospital-based care.
  • Maintain case tracking systems with up-to-date information.
  • Support communication with patients regarding hospital-based procedures.
  • Identify and address inefficiencies in case coordination workflows.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to support OMFS and GPR training needs.
