  • Manage OMFS operating room block time and scheduling with hospital OR leadership and anesthesia teams.
  • Monitor clinic and OR revenue performance; drive initiatives to improve collections and reduce revenue leakage.
  • Build and maintain referral relationships internally and externally; track referral sources and conversion rates.
  • Align operational infrastructure with residency program growth; participate in strategic planning for service line and educational program expansion.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

The Director, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Operations is responsible for operational, financial, and strategic management of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service across the dental school clinic and affiliated hospital sites. This role drives clinical efficiency, revenue performance, and program growth.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Optimize chair utilization, provider schedules and clinic throughput; resolve operational bottlenecks impacting productivity - Ensure efficient patient flow and staffing alignment by implementing systems to reduce no-shows and cancellations
  • Manage OMFS operating room block time and scheduling in coordination with hospital OR leadership and anesthesia teams - Track and improve OR utilization and case volume growth and enable expansion of surgical services (trauma, orthognathic, pathology) and facilities
  • Monitor clinic and OR revenue performance and drive initiatives to improve collections and reduce revenue leakage - Analyze productivity metrics and identify operational inefficiencies and partner with finance on budgeting and forecasting
  • Build and maintain referral relationships internally and externally - Develop strategies to increase case volume and case mix complexity; track referral sources and conversion rates
  • Align operational infrastructure with residency program growth and participate in strategic planning for service line and educational program expansion - Coordinate across clinical staff, faculty, residents, and hospital teams and ensure alignment of clinic and OR schedules with educational mission
  • Performs all other duties and Responsibilities As Assigned Or Directed By The Supervisor.
