Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of tests, procedures and surgeries under the direction of the Practice Supervisor or Manager and physician(s).
• Schedule procedures promptly, follow facility booking guidelines and ensure proper equipment is ordered for surgery.
• Verify patient demographics, log insurance information, obtain precertification from payer and coordinate scheduling with physician calendars.
• Communicate appointment and surgical preparation information to patients and coordinate post-operative care as directed.
• Arrange co-surgeon or assistant as needed and cross-schedule with other departments (e.g., lab, nuclear medicine).
• Maintain pre-op procedures, complete surgical documentation, obtain medical clearances, and coordinate pre-admission testing.
