Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to manage all aspects of tests, procedures and surgeries with the Practice Supervisor and physicians. You will schedule procedures, verify patient demographics, coordinate pre-op and post-op activities, ensure proper documentation, and support billing and coding processes while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

This role requires strong communication, HIPAA awareness, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and two years of related experience.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of tests, procedures and surgeries under supervision.
• Schedule procedures and ensure proper equipment is ordered.
• Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification from the payer.
• Coordinate procedure appointments with physician's calendar and communicate prep information to patients.
• Arrange cross-coverage with other departments as needed and coordinate post-operative care.
• Maintain block time guidelines and ensure adherence to surgical service processes.
