Job summary

Chesapeake Urology is seeking a Surgical Poster to coordinate all aspects of surgical care for patients, serving as a liaison among patients, physicians, hospitals, and caregivers in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of surgical posting experience, EMR familiarity, and strong communication and HIPAA skills; travel within the region may be required. The role offers $22–$26 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of surgical posting experience.
• Proficient knowledge of insurance.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a plus.
• Urology experience is a plus.
• Travel: Must be able to travel to other sites within a geographic region.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients referred by the physician for coordination of surgical care and explain procedures and preoperative requirements.
• Coordinate verification of all surgical care and attach documentation to the patient’s medical record (EHR).
• Schedule pre-admission testing, additional tests, labs and notifications.
• Schedule appointments according to physician preferences.
• Ensure pre-ops are received and reviewed by nursing; complete documentation for the EMR.
