Job summary

WVU Health System is seeking an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel to support the perioperative nursing team in a high-volume hospital setting. You will assist with preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care and help ensure patient comfort and safety under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include equipment handling, patient transport, and basic aseptic tasks, with BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Workload includes varied duties across 40 hours weekly in a non-exempt role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of departmental clinical support or PCA orientation.
• Obtain BLS/HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative support to assist nursing staff.
• Report changes in patient condition to a RN and assist with supplies and equipment.
• Transport patients and supplies, and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Process instruments and participate in sterile processing tasks as needed.
