Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks a non-licensed assistive personnel to support the perioperative nursing team. You will perform preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative tasks, assist with patient transport, and maintain sterile processing areas to ensure safe, efficient care.

Requires a high school diploma, PCA orientation, and BLS/HeartSaver within 30 days. Prior patient care or CNA/MA experience preferred. Rotating shifts with a 40-hour week in Morgantown, WV.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of departmental clinical support or PCA orientation.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Performs preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative support activities to assist the nursing team caring for surgical/procedural patients.
• Uses aseptic technique to open sterile supplies and prepares work area for next patient and shift.
• Transports patients to and from various areas and assists with transfers and positioning.
