Carle Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our Operating Room team in the Minneapolis area. The role supports the surgeon as first or second assistant, with opportunities across full- and part-time shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology as required.
• Licenses/certifications: BLS, CSA or CST as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Applies asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assists with supplies, equipment, and patient positioning for procedures.
• Performs scrubbing duties and preceptor duties.
• Manages room turnover and charges for equipment and supplies.
• Assists nurse in planning patient care.
• Operates autoclave sterilization units.
• Assists in intraoperative behavior as first assistant.
• Knowledge of closure techniques and anatomy.
