Carle Health seeks a Surgical Assistant to join the Operating Room team as an integral part of the perioperative team, assisting the surgeon and functioning as a first or second surgical technician or second circulator under RN supervision.

We offer various shifts and scheduling options to fit lifestyle and career goals, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time and part-time positions and relocation assistance available for moves over 50 miles.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) - National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA)
• Licensed Surgical Assistant within 1 year - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)

Responsibilities

• Applies the principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Initiates intraoperative behavior as first assistant.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Performs scrubbing duties as needed.
• Assists in room turnover.
