Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our Operating Room team in Colorado. The role supports the surgeon as an in-room assistant, handling aseptic technique, patient positioning and intraoperative tasks, while collaborating with nurses and clinicians to ensure safe, efficient care.

We offer flexible shifts and various scheduling options, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time and part-time positions and relocation assistance for eligible moves.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• CSA, NBSTSA, or equivalent certification preferred
• Licensed Surgical Assistant or CST per state requirements may apply
• 2+ years in an operating room scrub role
• Open to both full-time and part-time candidates

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and aseptic technique
• Organize supplies and equipment for cost-effective operation
• Assist in intraoperative activities as first or second assistant
• Prepare patient care plans with nursing staff
• Operate autoclave sterilization units and assist in room turnover
• Provide instruction to students and residents as needed
