Job summary

Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights, OH, is seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant / First Assist to provide direct intraoperative support across multiple specialties. The role collaborates closely with surgeons to facilitate safe procedures, including tissue handling, exposure, hemostasis, suturing and wound closure.

Candidates must have strong multi‑specialty surgical experience and be comfortable participating in call, late shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Assistant (SA), RNFA or equivalent program.
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) may be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of Surgical Assistant experience.
• Surgical credentials: SA, CSFA, RNFA, PA, or equivalent.
• Surgical Technologists are NOT eligible for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct intraoperative support across multiple specialties.
• Collaborate with surgeons to facilitate safe and efficient procedures, including tissue handling, exposure, hemostasis, suturing and wound closure.
