Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist with 3+ years of experience.
• Certification as Surgical Assistant or Surgical First Assistant from a Surgical Assistant Program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; will be obtained during hospital orientation.
• Maintains compliance with RQI program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical tasks for safe operations.
• Prepare the patient and drapes; assist with positioning and catheter placement.
• Maintain aseptic technique and proper use of equipment.
• Review patient chart and verify allergies.
• Follow surgeon's preferences and prep tray setup; ensure sterile supplies.
• Maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
