Mercy Health is seeking a Surgical Assistant to support operating room teams under surgeon supervision. This entry-level role focuses on learning while delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The Surgical Assistant will perform sterile technique, assist with cases, and participate in pre- and post-operative tasks while maintaining compliance with safety and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Completion of Surgical Assistant Program, required.
• CSA certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving and assists in cases.
• Maintains sterile field and checks instruments for readiness.
• Protects patient information and follows safety protocols.
• Prepares OR equipment per surgeon’s preferences and assists with caseload.
• Assists with patient positioning and draping during procedures.
