Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Surgical Assistant Program required.
• BLS/CSA/NBSTSA certification or equivalent preferred/required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving per policy.
• Assists as first or second assistant on cases and supports sterile technique.
• Maintains sterile field and aids with instrument counts and specimen handling.
• Communicates instrument status and sterility concerns to the circulator.
• Supports patient positioning and initial prep for procedures.
