Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our operating room team. This entry-level role focuses on learning and growing under supervision, performing hands-on assistance during procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the surgical team across daily cases.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and completion of a Surgical Assistant Program. BLS preferred; CSFA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures as first or second assistant.
• Perform surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving per policy.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with instrument counts and specimen handling.
• Monitor and protect patient information and participate in Universal Protocol.
