Job summary

Baptist Health seeks a Surgical Scheduling Clerk to coordinate all aspects of patient surgeries for a high-volume physician practice in the Miami area. You will create and submit surgical encounters in Soarian for billing and verify patient demographics and insurance information.

You will obtain surgery authorization and work with surgeons to ensure accurate procedure and diagnosis codes for billing. Strong customer service, communication, and EMR proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of healthcare scheduling/operations experience.
• Surgery scheduling experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient in EMR and scheduling systems (Cerner, Soarian).
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate all aspects of patient surgeries for a high-volume physician practice.
• Create and submit surgical encounters in Soarian for billing.
• Obtain and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Obtain authorization for surgery and ensure codes are accurate for billing.
• Collaborate with supporting departments to schedule and code surgeries properly.
• Deliver professional, compassionate service to patients and physicians.
