Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Surgery Support Specialist to care for surgical patients and their families. You will transport patients, manage supplies, and help prepare the operating room with equipment and supplies.

You will interact closely with patients and families to ensure comfort and safety during the surgical experience. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months in a customer service role or team environment, with basic computer and phone skills.

Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgery Support Specialist provides care for surgical patients and family, interacting and communicating effectively. They are responsible for the transportation of patients, along with the supply management and environmental care functions in the department. This includes departmental cleaning and preparing the surgery room with equipment and supplies; in addition interacts and communicates with surgical patients and their families.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 6 months in a customer service role or working in a team environment.
• Other skills/knowledge: Experience working with computers, phones, and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Patient Care experience in health care environment Licensure/Certifications: American Heart Association CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) Other skills/Knowledge: Completion of medical terminology class.
