Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, principles of responsibilities, and applicable laws.
• Arranges for special needs as ordered by the physician on the surgery scheduling form (e.g., blood, equipment, techs).
• Schedules cases to fill cancellations for maximum utilization of operating room.
• Contacts physicians and departments to obtain and provide scheduling information.
• Schedules pre-operative appointments and tests (History and Physical, labs, pre-op education, preadmission interview).
• Prints schedules, confirmations, and instructions for patients; communicates times, location, and NPO status.
• Notify patients of any changes and cancellations; manage pre-op communication with care teams.
