Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year scheduling experience in a surgery center or medical office.
• Strong knowledge of EMR, healthcare coding systems and clinics functions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries and determine appropriate provider, time and location.
• Pre-authorize surgeries with insurance companies and enter data accurately.
• Maintain a surgical log for statistics.
• Provide pre-surgical packets and pre-operative instructions.
• Coordinate with facilities for equipment and personnel needs.
• Ensure pre-operative labs are ordered and documented in the EMR.
